The Gold Coast Titans have been on a winning streak lately, securing consecutive victories in the past two weeks.

They have a chance to secure a spot in the finals if they defeat the last-placed Parramatta Eels in Round 8.

The Titans currently hold a two-point lead over the fifth-placed Canberra Raiders and are on the brink of making it to the finals for the first time since their inaugural season in 2021.

One standout performer for the Titans in their last game was prop Shannon Mato, who made an impressive 286-metre effort in the middle of the field.

The team's success can be attributed to their strong forward pack and the solid general play kicking of Lauren Brown.

On the other hand, the Eels are playing for pride as their season has not gone as planned.

They suffered a heavy defeat against the Roosters last week, losing 46-12.

However, with only two points separating them from the teams above them on the ladder, they still have a chance to avoid finishing last.

In their previous two encounters, both teams have won a game each.

The Titans have a better record at Cbus Super Stadium, winning three out of the five games they have played there.

This upcoming game on Sunday will mark the Eels' first time playing at the venue.
