Gold Coast Titans captain Tino Fa'asuamaleaui has reportedly decided to continue representing Australia amid ongoing speculation about his international career.
International eligibility discussions have intensified in recent months, particularly with numerous prominent players claiming dual eligibility. Notable examples include AJ Brimson and Billy Smith, who have committed to England, while Payne Haas has announced he will switch from the Australian jersey to represent Samoa in the upcoming 2025 Pacific Championships.
As both Australia and Samoa await Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow's decision, The Daily Telegraph has revealed that Fa'asuamaleaui is set to remain with the Kangaroos, positioning him for a matchup against England in the 2025 Ashes Series later this year.
However, Fa'asuamaleaui's official announcement regarding his choice is not expected until the end of the current season. This comes after circulating rumors suggesting that the six-time Kangaroos representative might follow Payne Haas in returning to Samoa, where he previously played in 2019 alongside stars like Jeremiah Nanai, Jarome Luai, and Brian To'o.
Prior to the news about his allegiance, Fa'asuamaleaui stated, "I haven't made a decision at all. Hopefully, I get to that point at the end of the year where I get to select," highlighting his intention to assess his options before making a final choice.
