The MVP race this season brought an unprecedented level of competition, marking the closest tally since the award's inception six years ago. Heading into the final round, five contenders were vying for the title, but that number decreased when Naufahu Whyte was rested by Roosters coach Trent Robinson.
In the climactic finale, Jarome Edwards earned two votes during Penrith's victory over the Tigers, while Nathan Cleary secured three votes.
Haumole Olakau'atu concluded the season in third place, just two votes shy of Cleary after failing to score in the last match. Whyte held onto fourth, and Scott Drinkwater's four votes in the upset against the Raiders ensured he finished in fifth.
If Drinkwater had delivered a perfect performance, he would have tied for the top spot.
Braydon Trindall, sidelined for the season's final weeks, fell to seventh, with Herbie Farnworth scoring 12 votes against the Titans. Others, including Sua Fa'alogo, James Tedesco, and Kalyn Ponga, remained among the top ten despite not adding to their tallies.
No player garnered 20 votes in Round 27. However, a wide array of athletes, including Payne Haas, Ben Hunt, and Cameron Murray, were recognized as best on ground by at least one judge.
