In Round 2 of the NRLW, Wests Tigers narrowly lost to the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs, 12-8, in a hard-fought match held at Campbelltown Sports Stadium.
The Bulldogs asserted early dominance, with former Tiger Ebony Prior scoring from dummy half and Alexis Tauaneai adding to the score after recovering a loose ball, putting the visitors ahead 12-0 by the 29th minute.
Despite a shaky start, the Tigers displayed strong defensive resilience, thanks to notable performances from Kezie Apps, Sarah Togatuki, and debutant Caitlin Turnbull on the wing.
Amelia Huakau also made an impact, delivering a noteworthy tackle that shook Bulldogs co-captain Angelina Teakaraanga-Katoa just before halftime.
The second half began without any scores until the 56th minute, when centre Emily Bass capitalized on a dropped high ball to score her first try for Wests Tigers.
Captain Kezie Apps then electrified the crowd with a powerful solo run, slicing through the defense to score in the corner, bringing the Tigers within four points of the Bulldogs.
