The Wests Tigers are scrambling to keep prized forward Stefano Utoikamanu at the club, as his absence from the NSW squad adds another hurdle to the negotiation table.

Captain Api Koroisau is leading the charge, urging Utoikamanu to commit to the Tigers for the long haul.

However, the young prop is wary of the countless voices offering advice on his future.

With the Tigers anchored at the bottom of the ladder with only two wins, Utoikamanu has the option to explore other opportunities if the team fails to make the finals.

Additionally, he can seek a new club if he doesn't feature in two State of Origin matches this season.

Despite a reported lucrative offer from the Tigers and the support of his teammates, Utoikamanu remains undecided.

The club is in transition under the guidance of new coach Benji Marshall, and his decision could have a significant impact on their rebuilding efforts.

"It's a tough situation," Koroisau admitted.

"Stef is a talented player with a bright future in the game.

We just have to take it one game at a time and see how things play out."
