In a showdown that can only be described as a Pre-Season Challenge, Wests Tigers faced off against the Bulldogs in a clash that saw some rookie players from the Tigers' extended squad getting their first taste of action in the 2025 season.

The Bulldogs were not easy opponents, maintaining a conservative approach in the early stages of the game.

It was a tightly contested match from the get-go, with both teams playing it safe and testing each other's defenses.

However, it was a Bulldogs error that gave Wests Tigers the first real opportunity to make their mark on the scoreboard.

Josh Feledy made a valiant effort from dummy half in the 13th minute, but fell just short of crossing the try line.

Lachlan Galvin, eager to make an impact for Wests Tigers, tried his best to ignite some attacking spark in the early stages of the game but was unable to break through for an early score.

It was Jack Todd who broke the deadlock for Canterbury, bulldozing his way over the line after coming on from the interchange bench in the 23rd minute.

Galvin's persistence eventually paid off when he played a crucial role in setting up a sensational team try for Wests Tigers in the 32nd minute.

Despite their efforts, the Bulldogs managed to hold on to secure a 20-14 victory in what was a closely fought contest from start to finish.

It may have been a pre-season clash, but the intensity on the field was anything but friendly, with both teams leaving it all out on the field in preparation for the upcoming season.
