Tigers lose one, gain another: field swaps in play

LeagueNews.co | Jason Patrick

Wests Tigers face a significant setback with the news that star fullback Jahream Bula will be sidelined for at least a month due to a hamstring injury sustained in a recent match against the Canberra Raiders.

Bula has been a standout performer for the team, averaging 174 running metres per game and making several vital try-saving tackles, making his absence a considerable blow to the Tigers' lineup.

In light of Bula's injury, the team is expected to make adjustments, with Heath Mason likely stepping into the fullback position.

Additionally, Latu Fainu is set to debut in the halves alongside Jarome Luai, rather than coming off the interchange bench as he has done previously.

Amid the news of Bula's injury, there's a silver lining for the Tigers as new recruit Taylan May is poised to make his return to the field through the NSW Cup competition after more than a year of absence.

Despite the challenges facing the team, the management will be hopeful that May's return can offset some of the impact of losing Bula.
