Wests Tigers have kept their finals aspirations alive in the Jersey Flegg Cup after a gritty 18-10 victory over the Roosters at the iconic Lidcombe Oval.
The game was a real ding-dong battle until the 18th minute when Roosters' Xavier Chatfield-Mooka finally broke through the tough Wests Tigers defense to score.
The Roosters quickly followed it up with Noah Goodman's acrobatic try in the corner, putting the visitors in control.
But the Tigers weren't going to go down without a fight.
Zak Clarke crashed over the line just before halftime thanks to some solid work from Brandon Tumeth in the middle of the field.
The Tigers came out firing in the second half, with powerhouse Chris Faagutu muscling his way through the Roosters' defense to score.
Clarke's conversion put the home team ahead 12-10, sending the crowd into a frenzy.
Then, in true Rugby League fashion, things got heated with a mass brawl breaking out on the field.
It was a real old-school footy moment that added some spice to an already intense match.
In the end, the Tigers' determination and never-say-die attitude saw them hold on for a crucial win, keeping their finals hopes well and truly alive.
It was a gutsy performance that would have made the Rugby League legends proud.
