The Wests Tigers have enhanced their external backline depth by signing former Parramatta Eels and South Sydney Rabbitohs player Max Lehmann for the 2026 season.
With the departure of players such as Brent Naden, Charlie Staines, Josh Feledy, and Solmona Faataape, the Tigers have been actively seeking a versatile player who can fill various back-line roles in the event of injuries or suspensions during the season.
Jack Attard has already joined as a backup fullback, and now the Tigers have added 25-year-old Lehmann to cover center and wing positions. Lehmann brings extensive experience from playing at the lower-grades level for several years.
Although he won't immediately take a spot on the club's Top 30 roster or development list, Lehmann has been observed training with the first-grade squad during pre-season, sharing the field with players such as Maxwell Taotua and Luke Jack.
Lehmann's career includes stints overseas with the Bradford Bulls and in the NSW Cup with the Parramatta Eels and South Sydney Rabbitohs. He also celebrated a QLD Cup premiership with the Brisbane Tigers.
In the 2025 NSW Cup season with the Rabbitohs, he made an impactful contribution by scoring six tries, achieving 18 tackle busts, and five line-breaks. Following this success, he transitioned to play for Manly League, where he played a crucial role in their Sydney Shield title win.
