Tigers complete perfect season in BMD Premiership
The Brisbane Tigers wrapped up an impeccable 2025 season by clinching the BMD Premiership title with a decisive 22-6 victory against the Burleigh Bears at Kayo Stadium, Redcliffe.
Throughout the season, the Tigers remained unbeaten, and their performance in the grand final reflected the patience, organization, and composure that characterized their journey.
Burleigh managed to strike first, with Bella Thompson scoring out wide in the fifth minute. Zara Canfield converted successfully, giving the Bears an early 6-0 lead.
Captain Teaghan Hartigan led her team with confidence, helping them maintain composure during the initial moments of the match.
However, the Tigers, under coach Rhett Tronc's guidance, remained calm and strategically built pressure. Eventually, they found openings in Burleigh's defense. India Seeto broke through for a try in the 20th minute, quickly followed by Enah Desic powering over in the 26th minute.
Desic successfully converted both attempts, lifting the Tigers ahead. By the 34th minute, Tahlia Marshall added another try, sending Brisbane into halftime with an 18-6 lead.
After the break, the Bears sought to make an impact and had some opportunities. Hartigan motivated her teammates, and Burleigh made a strong push through the center. However, crucial handling errors at important moments hindered their chances and proved detrimental.
