Tiana Penitani Gray, the Sharks captain, expressed her excitement about being in the spotlight as her team prepares for the NRLW season opener against the Eels.

Having played five-eighth for NSW, she gained a deeper understanding of the game but is content to play in the centres alongside rising talents Chantay Kiria-Ratu and Georgia Hannaway.

Tiana excelled in her temporary role during the Blues' first Origin series victory, but after the Sharks signed Kiria-Ratu from the Titans and Tyla King, a dual Olympic gold medallist, from the Dragons, she is expected to remain in her current position.

Hannaway, just 20, made her Origin debut for Queensland in the series finale and is set to work closely with the 21-year-old Kiria-Ratu, a Cook Islands halfback touted as a future superstar.

The combination of these young talents gives hope for a bright season ahead.
