Another National Rugby League (NRL) team has exited the competition to sign young Melbourne Storm playmaker Jonah Pezet, following the Newcastle Knights and St George Illawarra Dragons in ruling themselves out.

Pezet is considered a potential future star in the league, alongside talents like Isaiya Katoa and Lachlan Galvin. However, he currently remains in the shadows of seasoned players, specifically QLD Maroons captain Cameron Munster and the 2024 Dally M Medal winner Jahrome Hughes.

Despite having re-signed with the Storm less than a year ago until 2029, Pezet possesses a unique contractual clause that designates him a free agent. This allowance is triggered because Hughes' contract was extended in July, opening the door for Pezet to explore opportunities with other teams.

According to The Courier-Mail, the Gold Coast Titans are the latest to withdraw from the race for Pezet, joining the previously mentioned Dragons and Knights.

Pezet's choice not to join the Titans narrows the field to three remaining contenders: the Canberra Raiders, North Queensland Cowboys, and Parramatta Eels. Additionally, there may be interest from the Perth Bears.
