The Dragons' trip to Leichhardt Oval on Thursday night ended in disappointment as they were unable to reel in the Wests Tigers, falling short with a final score of 16-14 in challenging conditions.

Before the clash, Raecene McGregor was honored with a special jersey to mark her impressive 40th NRLW appearance.

The Dragons struggled with ball control early on in the game, facing a tough challenge as the Wests Tigers, under the guidance of Brett Kimmorley, took control.

However, a second-half double from Maatuleio Fotu-Moala gave the Dragons a glimmer of hope as they fought to claw their way back into the match.

Despite their efforts, time ran out before they could mount a successful comeback.

The game got off to a rocky start for the Dragons, with an early mistake giving the Wests Tigers an opportunity to attack.

Christian Pio was held up over the line in a determined effort to score the first points of the match.

Unfortunately, things took a turn for the worse when Angelina Teakaraanga-Katoa was placed on report for a high shot.

Rebecca Pollard capitalized on the opportunity, scoring for the Wests Tigers and extending their lead to 4-0.

In the end, the Dragons were unable to overcome the early setbacks and fell just short of victory in a tough contest that saw both teams battling it out until the final whistle.
