Te'o's Future Remains Uncertain Amidst Controversy

Te'o almost left Broncos six months before latest exit

Ben Te'o is unlikely to make an immediate move down the M1 to join the Gold Coast, despite nearly reaching an agreement to join the Titans late last year.

The spotlight on Te'o's departure from the Broncos has become a hot topic in league discussions, especially following his public disagreement with Brisbane's coach, Michael Maguire.

Maguire is set to face significant questioning regarding the situation when he speaks to the media on Thursday, just before the Broncos play against the Dolphins.

The future location of Te'o remains uncertain, especially after his solid defensive strategies helped lead the Broncos to a championship after 19 years last season.

Last year, the 39-year-old was on the verge of finalizing a move to Gold Coast for the 2026 season and beyond, with the Titans waiting until Brisbane's season concluded to announce the deal.

However, following Brisbane's triumph, Te'o experienced a change of heart and opted to sign a new three-year contract with the Broncos instead.

Now, less than six months later, Te'o finds himself effectively a free agent in the coaching landscape.
