Trent Robinson, coach of the Sydney Roosters, has announced that James Tedesco will be absent from the match against the Wests Tigers this Sunday, with Cody Ramsey stepping in for the third consecutive week.
The NSW Blues star sustained an ankle injury during the first half of the dominant 82-12 win over the North Queensland Cowboys and has not returned since.
Robinson has consistently named Tedesco in the lineup each week, humorously noting during a media session that he would include him again the following week.
The coach described managing Tedesco's injury as "frustrating," highlighting that the situation has proven more challenging than initially anticipated.
"We've named him each week, but he's not right to play this week," the Roosters coach said.
"He's progressed well, but it's been more niggly than we thought."
The Roosters are optimistic that Tedesco will improve through additional training ahead of their important match against the Dolphins.
"He has to build up a whole week of training, and he hasn't been able to do that," Robinson added.
This season marks the first time since 2020 that the former Tigers player will miss participating in 20 games.
