The Sydney Roosters have officially announced that James Tedesco will continue his career, having re-signed for the 2027 NRL season.

This decision marks a significant boost for the Roosters, as Tedesco, aged 32, will now have a minimum of two more full seasons ahead of him.

While the fullback has stated he will not play against the Roosters, he remains ambitious about extending his career and has taken a significant step forward by agreeing to a new one-year extension.

Recognized as one of the premier players in the sport, Tedesco reached impressive heights in 2025, helping the Roosters secure a place in the top eight and winning the Dally M Medal by a substantial margin.

Tedesco indicated that he still has much he wants to accomplish.

"I'm incredibly proud to represent this Club and to continue leading a group of players who mean so much to me," the distinguished fullback remarked in a club statement confirming his extended contract.

"The Roosters have played a huge role in my career and my life. Working with Robbo has pushed me to become a better player and person, and I'm grateful for the belief he's always shown in me."
