Team Expresses Interest in Rabbitohs Halfback Lewis Dodd for 2026

English international Lewis Dodd has been granted permission to leave the South Sydney Rabbitohs and has piqued the interest of another team looking to sign him for the upcoming season.

In an effort to establish the right halves combination, coach Wayne Bennett made three new transfers prior to this year, bringing in Jamie Humphreys, Lewis Dodd, and Jayden Sullivan from the Manly Sea Eagles, St Helens RLFC, and Wests Tigers, respectively.

While both Humphreys and Sullivan have performed well, Dodd has not met expectations, failing to justify the hype surrounding his signing and hefty contract. Most of his time at the Rabbitohs has been spent in the NSW Cup.

This season, Dodd has appeared in only six NRL matches, and due to limited playing time, he hasn't made a significant impact. He has been overshadowed by other players such as Jack Wighton and Jye Gray.

Although he is under contract for two more seasons, lasting until the end of 2027, Dodd has been offered to teams in the Super League. The Catalans Dragons have shown interest in signing him for the next season, particularly after losing Luke Keary and Theo Fages, as reported by All Out Rugby League.

This development follows Coach Wayne Bennett's indication that Dodd is free to leave the club.
