In a significant milestone for Tariq Sims, the 33-year-old rugby league player proudly represented his fourth club, the Melbourne Storm, during the 2023 NRL season.
This season also marked Sims' final time on the NRL field.
After the departure of long-time forwards at the beginning of the year, Sims brought a wealth of experience to the Storm, with 221 first-grade games under his belt.
This experience proved invaluable for Craig Bellamy's new-look forward pack.
Unfortunately, Sims' start to the season was delayed due to a calf injury sustained during the pre-season.
However, he made his debut for the Storm in Round 3, becoming the club's 230th player.
In this game, he quickly made an impact by scoring an exciting first try in the purple jersey.
Throughout the season, Sims made a total of 15 appearances for the Storm, showcasing his skills and contributing to the team's success.
He ended the season with an impressive 95% tackle efficiency and covering a distance of 1000 run meters.
When not playing in the NRL, Sims maintained a routine by playing for the Storm's Queensland HostPlus feeder team, the Brisbane Tigers.
Remarkably, Sims remained undefeated in all seven of his appearances for the Tigers.
During these games, he scored three tries and completed 185 tackles with an impressive 97% efficiency rate.
Overall, Sims had a successful season with the Melbourne Storm, making a valuable contribution to the team's forward pack.
As he hangs up his boots, his experience and skills will be remembered by both his teammates and fans alike.
