Talty Aiming for England Rugby League Spot

Broncos Forward Eager to Represent England at World Cup

Ben Talty, who made his NRL debut last year, continues to excel at Red Hill.

Recognizing that he is still early in his professional journey, Talty has expressed his desire to represent England at the 2026 Rugby League World Cup.

His eligibility comes through his grandparents, and he shared this aspiration with the media recently.

This 27-year-old player has become a dependable impact option for coach Michael Maguire, averaging 84 run metres and 26 post-contact metres per game this season.

"I'd love the opportunity to represent my mother's heritage," he stated.

"My grandparents, on my mother's side, were both born and raised in England, and I'd love the opportunity to represent them," he added.

He also noted that achieving his goal is not guaranteed, understanding that his current focus must remain on consistently performing well for the Broncos.

"I think it's important to not get too ahead of myself and just stay well-grounded," Talty emphasized.

"I understand where I'm at now in my career, and I've got a long way to go to even be considered for representative honours such as England. I just want to keep training and playing consistently," he concluded.
