News Corp reports Sam Walker could earn $1.5 million a season if he helps the Roosters win their first title in seven years.
The 24-year-old can negotiate with rival NRL clubs from November 1 for a 2028 contract, but reports say he is keen to stay.
Roosters chairman Nick Politis is confident the club can secure an extension through 2031.
"We will keep him at the Roosters," Politis told News Corp.
He added, "We love Sam, and it would break the kid's heart if he had to leave.
"I'm confident we will have it (Walker's extension) done after the grand final."
Politis also praised Walker's return from syndesmosis surgery, which took just 27 days.
"I thought his season was over, but he said he would make it back and he did it. I love him for it," Politis said.
