Cameron Munster, the five-eighth for the Melbourne Storm, received a one-match suspension due to a Grade 2 Dangerous Contact infraction involving Manly Sea Eagles forward Taniela Paseka.
If he is deemed guilty at the Judiciary on Tuesday, Munster's suspension may extend to two games.
With the Storm heading into a bye next round, Tyran Wishart is anticipated to step into the number six jersey, while rookie Hayden Watson is likely to retain his position at halfback for the upcoming Round 25 bout against the Penrith Panthers as Jahrome Hughes continues his recovery.
Another charge emerged from Saturday's opening match in Perth, where Manly winger Jason Saab faced a Grade 1 Careless High Tackle on Storm forward Joe Chan.
Being his second offence this season, Saab will incur a fine that ranges between $1,800 and $2,500 depending on whether he contests the charge at the Judiciary.
The Dolphins' exciting 40-32 victory over the Brisbane Broncos also saw three players penalized, with Patrick Carrigan, Morgan Knowles, and Kotoni Staggs all charged with Grade 1 Careless High Tackles.
These three players will each receive a fine of $1,800 as second offenders, which could rise by $700 if they contest their charges and are found guilty.
In the final match on Saturday night, both Sean Keppie from the South Sydney Rabbitohs and Jack De Belin from the Parramatta Eels were charged with Grade 1 Dangerous Contact.
