Sunny Kama Earns Titans Development Promotion

Future Titans Star Joins Development Squad

Emerging Gold Coast Titans talent Sunny Kama has earned a promotion to the development squad for the years 2026 and 2027, a testament to his dedication and hard work.

Initially starting his journey on a train-and-trial contract, this promising rookie has rapidly ascended through the Titans' ranks.

Kama's accomplishments began during his schoolboy years, where he played a key role in Palm Beach Currumbin's victory in the national schoolboy championship in 2024.

The Titans pathways manager, Matt Keating, expressed his admiration for Kama's relentless commitment during the summer training period.

"I'm extremely proud of Sunny's development since being part of the pathways program, and his progression is a great example of how the NRL transitional program is designed to work," he stated.

"The step up from the junior program to a full-time NRL environment can be significant, but we want to ensure the young players are fully prepared physically, mentally and professionally for what that looks like."

"Over the past 12 months, Sunny has embraced the standards and expectations we set within that space. He's continued to flourish in his growth as a player on the field, as well as develop an attention to detail away from it, including around recovery and preparation."

"It's great to see the work he's put in and how much he's applied himself training with the NRL squad over the pre-season and is well deserving of the opportunity to be upgraded to a development player."

This talented outside back is part of a robust group of rising stars within the Gold Coast's development system, including Fynn Laffranchi and NRL newcomer Cooper Bai, highlighting the club's promising future.
