Former Gold Coast Titans and Melbourne Storm hooker Aaron Booth has called time on his rugby league career, citing a long battle with injuries as the main reason for his sudden retirement.
Booth, 28, made his NRL debut for the Melbourne Storm in 2020 and played six games over a two-year period with the club.
After shifting to the Burleigh Bears in the QLD Cup for the 2022 season, he finally made his club debut for the Titans in Round 18, starting at hooker.
Unfortunately, just weeks later, Booth suffered a devastating knee injury that resulted in a full ACL rupture, as well as problems with his MCL and PCL.
This injury marked the second time he had suffered an ACL injury, as he had previously experienced a similar setback during his time at the South Sydney Rabbitohs before making his NRL debut.
The setback has forced Booth to face the harsh reality of retirement, with doctors estimating a minimum recovery period of 12 months.
