Stuart gives nod for Fogarty's exit dance

The future of Jamal Fogarty at the Canberra Raiders remains uncertain as the deadline for his decision draws near.

Fogarty, who is off-contract at the end of 2026, has a player option for the final year of his current deal with the Raiders.

Coach Ricky Stuart is reportedly giving Fogarty his blessing to explore other opportunities, with a looming deadline for the Raiders to retain him at his current salary.

Despite the arrival of Ethan Strange, Fogarty continues to wear the number seven jumper for the team.

Fogarty had requested to negotiate his future during the pre-season but was denied by the Raiders, meaning he cannot speak with other clubs until the Raiders make their decision.

Fogarty has until Round 6 to see if the Raiders will pick up his option, after which he will have another 14 weeks to decide if he wants to remain with the team if they do not.

The situation is delicate as Fogarty navigates his future with the Raiders amid the uncertainty of his contract status.
