Shawn Blore's future in rugby league is heading toward the Brisbane Broncos in 2027.
The Melbourne Storm second-rower has been rumored to be leaving the club since late last year, and the Storm appears to have accepted they cannot retain him.
According to News Corp, Blore has finalized a two-year agreement with the Broncos, extending until the conclusion of the 2028 season.
This revelation delivers a harsh setback for the Storm, who are uncertain about the playing future of Eliesa Katoa and already lack depth in that position.
The second-row lineup has been strengthened recently by players like Cooper Clarke and Ativalu Lisati, along with the signing of Oryn Keeley from the Dolphins, who has made a positive impact following his addition ahead of the June 30 deadline.
Similarly, the Broncos have faced challenges in securing depth within their second-row, particularly with concerns surrounding Brendan Piakura's ability to return following a fifth concussion.
Blore was thought to be considering leaving Melbourne due to homesickness, with a potential return to Sydney on the horizon.
His former team, the Wests Tigers, was rumored to be a contender for his signature, alongside discussions linking him to the St George Illawarra Dragons.
However, those hopes diminished as the Dragons have already secured five new signings and boast a strong lineup of young forwards.
