The Melbourne Storm's interest in Tino Fa'asuamaleaui's $12 million deal with the Gold Coast Titans has come to light, revealing the extent of their desire to secure the talented player.
Despite other clubs showing interest, Fa'asuamaleaui and his fellow Queensland Maroons star both decided to recommit to the Titans, demonstrating their confidence in incoming coach Des Hasler.
Veteran league reporter Phil Rothfield shed light on the Storm's involvement in the deal, disclosing that they were also eager to secure the services of the Titans skipper.
The Storm reportedly offered him a long-term deal to return to the club where he previously won a premiership and played in 27 games.
However, when Fa'asuamaleaui's agent presented the Storm's lucrative offer to the Titans, the club had no choice but to match it in order to retain their captain.
