AAMI Park will host its 16th ANZAC Day match this Friday as Melbourne Storm takes on the South Sydney Rabbitohs.

Since their first ANZAC Day clash in 2009 against the New Zealand Warriors, Storm has won 11 out of 14 games played on this special day, facing off against the Warriors, Manly, and Rabbitohs.

ANZAC Day has become a significant and respected occasion for the Club, evolving into one of the most memorable nights in the home and away season.

The match is steeped in history, with a final-like atmosphere that adds to the intensity of the game.

This year holds extra significance as the Club jersey pays tribute to Melbourne-born pilot Air Commodore Arthur Henry 'Harry' Cobby, a distinguished figure in aviation and military service.

Throughout the years, various players have participated in this traditional match, with some making multiple appearances.

Cameron Munster and Nelson Asofa-Solomona are approaching the record for the most appearances, soon to equal Jesse Bromwich for the second-most appearances in ANZAC Day clashes.

The upcoming game against the Rabbitohs holds importance for Melbourne as they aim to continue their strong performance this season.

The match promises to be filled with emotion, pride, and a sense of tradition as both teams battle it out on this historic day.

As the anticipation builds for the 16th ANZAC Day clash at AAMI Park, Melbourne Storm and the South Sydney Rabbitohs look to etch their names further into the rich history of this revered occasion, commemorating the sacrifice and bravery of those who have served their country.
