Storm forward in hot water after high hit

LeagueNews.co | Cooper McEnroe

Melbourne Storm warrior Tepai Moeroa copped a MRC charge for a high tackle in the fierce battle against the North Queensland Cowboys in Townsville.

The Storm, missing some key players, put up a gallant fight but ultimately fell short against the desperate Cowboys in a high-scoring clash.

Despite not being put on report during the game, Moeroa faces a Grade 1 charge for his crunching hit on Queensland and Cowboys half Tom Dearden.

With a clean record over the past three years, Moeroa could cop a $750 fine with an early guilty plea or risk paying $1000 by taking his chances at the judiciary on Tuesday night.

Moeroa was the lone soldier charged from the fiery showdown, with no other players facing reprimand.

It's a tough blow for the Storm forward, but he'll need to brush it off and focus on the battles ahead.
