Meanwhile, the Cook Islands team gave the Bati, the national rugby league team of Fiji, a tough challenge.

The Cook Islands almost upset the Bati, but fell just short.

On the other hand, the Orchids, the women's national rugby league team of Papua New Guinea, successfully completed their task on their home turf, winning their match.

Throughout the weekend, many players from different countries stood out and performed exceptionally well.

These players took their game to new heights and proved their worth on the international stage.

Among these players were rookie fullbacks, speedy centres, and scheming playmakers.

They demonstrated their skills and abilities, earning recognition and praise.

One standout player was Bula, a rookie fullback from the Wests Tigers.

Despite being one of the 10 debutants for Fiji, he managed to shine among a team of experienced NRL Bati representatives.

Bula showcased his impressive skills by accumulating 253 run metres, making two line breaks, and scoring a crucial try that helped the Bati make a late surge against the Cook Islands.

His performance not only ignited the team but also highlighted his potential as a future star in representative rugby league.

Another player who showcased her versatility and experience was Takairangi.

Originally set to play in a different position, she was shifted to fullback due to an injury to a teammate.

Despite this change, Takairangi embraced the challenge and excelled in her role.

She accumulated 136 run metres, made two line breaks, and scored a try in her fifth Test appearance for the Cook Islands.

Her performance demonstrated her commitment to the game and suggested that she has much more to offer in the future.

Overall, the second week of the Pacific Championships was filled with exciting matches and outstanding performances.

These players who shone during Week Two have certainly raised their stocks and solidified their positions as rising stars in the world of rugby league.
