In a recent chat with the Fox's Fifi, Fev and Nick breakfast show, British actor and Renaissance man Stephen Fry dropped a bombshell about his unlikely connection to the South Sydney Rabbitohs.
Despite never having actually watched a game, Fry confessed that his house is now a shrine to the red and green, thanks to none other than Aussie legend Russell Crowe.
"Russell has a way of pushing Rabbitohs merch onto everyone he meets - myself included," Fry revealed.
"My house is now overflowing with Rabbitohs gear, and yet I couldn't tell you the first thing about how they play."
When asked about the team's performance, Fry admitted, "I haven't managed to follow the sport, despite Russell's efforts.
Are they a Sydney side?" The hosts, in typically Aussie fashion, informed him that the Rabbitohs had hit a bit of a rough patch.
But for Fry, it's not about the wins and losses - it's about the camaraderie and passion of the game.
And with his collection of Rabbitohs memorabilia proudly on display, Fry may just have found a new appreciation for the world of rugby league, even if he's still a bit green when it comes to the rules and players.
