Multiple Stars Charged After Fiery Samoa v Tonga Clash

Following the intense Pacific Championships Test on Sunday night, where Samoa triumphed over Tonga with a score of 34-6, two Samoan forwards and one Tongan player have been charged.

Francis Molo and Jazz Tevaga from Toa Samoa were both cited for their actions during the match, while Lehi Hopoate was charged in connection with Tonga's loss.

Molo received a Grade 2 Careless High Tackle citation for a second-minute hit on Stefano Utoikamanu, which results in a 13 percent match-fee fine if he pleads guilty, or a 20 percent fine if the panel finds him guilty.

Tevaga has been cited for Grade 1 Contrary Conduct in the 41st minute against Leka Halasima, facing a 7 percent penalty with an early plea, or 10 percent if he contests the charge unsuccessfully.

Tongan winger Hopoate was similarly charged with Grade 1 Contrary Conduct for an incident in the 54th minute involving Jarome Luai, with the same penalty structure as Tevaga.

Notably, all three players have clean records with no prior offences and are thus ineligible for a discount based on a three-year incident-free history.
