Wayne Bennett's South Sydney Rabbitohs defeated Kristian Woolf's Redcliffe Dolphins 16-14 in a relocated NRL clash due to a cyclone warning.

Despite the Dolphins rushing to Sydney and missing three players who stayed with their families, the Rabbitohs prevailed.

Second-gamer Humphreys impressed by taking on kicking duties and connecting well with Cody Walker.

Humphreys' cross-field kick set up winger Tyrone Munro for two first-half tries, although Munro left the game at halftime with a collarbone injury.

Lewis Dodd will need to prove himself upon his return to the team after serving a one-game suspension.

The match marked Bennett's successful return to coaching the Rabbitohs.
