Souths halfback race looks to be over

South Sydney's Jamie Humphreys seems set to continue as the team's halfback after an impressive debut in their win over the Dolphins.

With Lewis Dodd suspended, Humphreys took over the No.7 jersey and is likely to retain it for their upcoming game against the Dragons.

Dodd, who was seen doing separate drills during practice, is unlikely to be back in the lineup.

Humphreys, who had a league-high 711 kicking metres in round 1, is praised by his teammates for his physicality and leadership on the field.

Keaon Koloamatangi described him as looking like "Iron Man" and highlighted his strong performances both in attack and defense.

Despite being quiet off the field, Humphreys is said to be vocal and decisive during games, with his actions speaking volumes.
