South Sydney's Mitchell Sidesteps Future Questions

South Sydney take legal action as club fumes over NRL's latest request of Latrell Mitchell

The Perth Bears have emerged as a possible destination for Latrell Mitchell, with the club understood to be prepared to offer him more than $1 million a season.

Mitchell is contracted to South Sydney until the end of 2027, but speculation has grown as he approaches the November 1 date when he can enter the open market.

Rabbitohs chief executive Blake Solly has said the club will not start extension talks until next year.

"Trell is a discussion for next season," Solly told this publication last week.

"He knows what he's got to do to get that extension and we're all on the same page."

Asked where negotiations stand, Mitchell declined to clarify his future and gave a cheeky three-word response.
