John Morris has confirmed his departure from the Wests Tigers, where he served as an assistant coach under Benji Marshall.
The former multi-club half spent three seasons at the club and has been considering his coaching future.
Morris wants to prioritise time with his family.
His son Cruz has signed his first rugby league contract, joining the South Sydney Rabbitohs.
The signing was confirmed on Monday, three weeks after Pacific Sports Management announced Cruz as a client represented by Gavin Orr.
A fullback, Cruz won the University Shield with Endeavour Sports High.
He has also played in the Under-15s ASSRL National Championships and Sydney Metro Competition for the Maroubra Lions.
Cruz is set to play in the upcoming Harold Matthews season as he progresses through South Sydney's pathway ranks.
