South Sydney forward's 2027 future uncertain

Tigers young gun... and an exiled flyer — The top NRL stars without a contract in 2027

Adam Elliott has not been named among South Sydney's departing players after the club's finals defeat to Newcastle, despite lacking a contract for 2027.

The 32-year-old joined the Rabbitohs on a one-year deal before the 2026 season and made seven appearances under Wayne Bennett.

He started five times and offered useful depth in the forwards, playing in the middle or on an edge.

Elliott has been free to negotiate with other clubs since November 2025, but his status leaves open the possibility of staying at Souths.

Injuries have disrupted his recent seasons: a biceps tear ended his 2025 campaign with Newcastle, while groin and calf problems affected him at South Sydney.

The former Bulldog, Raider and Knight has played 180 first-grade games, and his experience and leadership could appeal to clubs seeking forward depth.
