The Canberra Raiders website has released a fiery report on the early domination of the NSW Sky Blues in Game One of the Women's State of Origin series.
The Sky Blues came out of the gates like a team possessed, showing no signs of slowing down as they clinched a 22-12 victory at Suncorp Stadium on Thursday night.
In front of a roaring crowd of 25,492 fans, the Sky Blues wasted no time in making their mark on the game.
Tries from Emma Tonegato and Jaime Chapman within the first 10 minutes set the tone for the rest of the match, giving them a lead that they refused to let slip from their grasp.
Despite a brief moment of promise for the Maroons with Ali Brigginshaw's crafty grubber kick, the Sky Blues managed to regain possession and never looked back.
Behind the powerful runs of Chapman and a slick pass from Olivia Kernick, Tonegato found herself over the try line once again, with Rachael Pearson adding the extras for a 6-0 lead.
Just minutes later, Chapman showed her speed and agility by intercepting a wayward kick from Romy Teitzel and racing 85 metres to score a scintillating try, leaving defenders in her wake.
Pearson further extended the lead with a penalty goal in the 19th minute, punishing Tazmin Rapana for infringing in the ruck.
The game was a showcase of the Sky Blues' determination and skill, as they outplayed their opponents in all areas of the field.
With such a commanding performance in Game One, the Sky Blues have sent a message to the rest of the competition - they mean business.
