Kevin Sinfield has exceeded his fundraising goal of £777,777 with two days left in his recent effort to promote awareness for Motor Neurone Disease.

As reported by skysports.com, Sinfield, 45, has already contributed to raising over £10 million through five previous challenges. He completed the fifth stage of his '7 in 7: Together' initiative on Friday in Whitehaven.

Before finishing his fifth ultramarathon across the UK and Ireland, his latest challenge had already garnered over £780,000. Sinfield, who is currently part of the England rugby union coaching staff, started day five at Workington rugby league club's Fibrus Community Stadium and concluded at Whitehaven's Recreation Ground.

England head coach Steve Borthwick, a Carlisle native, joined Sinfield for a segment of the day's run, and the fundraising target was achieved as they moved through Moresby. Thus far, the total amount raised has surpassed £799,790.

The motivation behind Sinfield's challenge is to shine a light on areas that often go unnoticed.
