The Kaiviti Silktails are stepping up their game thanks to a new partnership with the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs, taking a page out of the Bulldogs' playbook by establishing a hookers-halves academy.
Bulldogs General Manager, Phil Gould, made the journey to Suva, Fiji, this week to seal the deal with Silktails chair, Petero Civoniceva, in what is set to be a three-year agreement.
This partnership will allow the Silktails Jersey Flegg Cup (Under 21s) team to benefit from the NSWRL pathways.
Previously, the Silktails had a four-year partnership with the Sydney Roosters, with some players taking part in various Roosters competitions.
However, in a move reminiscent of rugby league history, they made the switch to the Bulldogs in search of more opportunities to develop their players.
Just like any rugby league team needing to build depth in key positions, the Silktails are on the hunt for talented halves and hookers to take their game to the next level.
With this new partnership, both teams are set to score big on the field.
