SJ inspiring next generation of Kiwis talent as young stars face off
Kiwis icon Shaun Johnson is set to motivate a new generation of Kiwi talent as they pursue redemption in the Pacific Championships.
Johnson postponed his retirement to respond to an urgent call from Kiwis coach Stacey Jones for last year's Pacific Championships. Faced with a string of player injuries, the team brought in numerous young stars to compete alongside the player they admired growing up.
Casey McLean, who debuted in the Test match during Johnson's final professional game, scored four tries in a decisive 54-12 win over Papua New Guinea. He believes the experience will establish a strong foundation for the future success of the Kiwis.
