The Cronulla Sharks' finals drought now stands at a woeful seven matches after being outplayed by the Melbourne Storm in a showdown at AAMI Park on Saturday.
The Storm turned on a second half clinic, leaving the Sharks in their wake and struggling to keep up with the top-ranked team.
The Storm came out firing, scoring in their very first set after the Sharks made a costly error letting the kick-off bounce over the dead ball line.
With Munster leading the way from dummy half, the Storm drew first blood and set the tone for the match.
Although Cronulla managed to hit back with a try from Sione Katoa, their moment of glory was short-lived as the Storm continued to dominate the game.
The visitors found themselves unable to match the pace and precision of the minor premiers, ultimately succumbing to their relentless attacking prowess.
