Nelson Asofa-Solomona has begun his professional boxing career with three victories over former NRL forwards Jeremy Latimore, Jarrod Wallace and George Burgess.
His next opponent will be Paul Gallen, with the pair scheduled to meet in Sydney on November 6.
No Limit Boxing secured Gallen's return after reportedly offering enough money to bring the 45-year-old former Cronulla premiership captain out of retirement.
Gallen had previously rejected a million-dollar proposal to face Asofa-Solomona.
The bout presents a significant physical challenge, with Gallen 15 years older and 20 centimetres shorter than the two-metre "Big Nasty".
However, Gallen defeated the taller Sonny Bill Williams in July last year, despite Williams being a former WBA heavyweight world champion.
Gallen has earned approximately $25 million from 16 victories as No Limit's long-time headline fighter.
He believes Asofa-Solomona is powerful but lacks the boxing ability to progress, despite holding a nine-fight, multi-year contract with No Limit.
"I'll tell you why they want me to come back. They want me to come back and beat him because they know he's shit," Gallen told nine.com.au last month.
"They want me to come back and finish this whole shemozzle."
Gallen added: "All due respect to Nelson ... No Limit have realised two things. Firstly, he can't fight, he's not a good boxer. He's dangerous. Don't get me wrong. He's very dangerous. He can punch."
"But as far as boxing goes, he's absolutely no chance of going anywhere, and they (No Limit) know that. That's why they want me to come back and beat him and finish him."
