The Cronulla Sharks boast a formidable backline.

Recruiting an exceptional talent would typically be necessary to disrupt their current five-man lineup, but the club has already secured such a player in the dynamic young star rising through their ranks.

Highly regarded centre Michael Gabrael has signed a new contract extension with the Sharks, ensuring his stay at the club lasts until at least the end of 2027.

The powerful attacking centre has garnered attention from scouts while progressing through the junior systems of both the Parramatta Eels and the Canterbury Bulldogs, ultimately finding his place in Cronulla.

Sharks' Head of Football, Darren Mooney, expressed his enthusiasm regarding Gabrael's re-signing and believes the young athlete is in capable hands to further his development in the region.

"Michael has benefitted from two years now training with the NRL squad and we are really happy with how he is progressing," Mooney stated.

He highlighted Gabrael's smooth transition from Jersey Flegg to NSW Cup, praising the 20-year-old for his outstanding performance.
