Sharks need Hynes boost for finals success

The Cronulla Sharks faced a daunting challenge when Nicholas "Nicho" Hynes was sidelined due to injury between Round 18 and 19.

With only ten victories under their belt at the time, they needed to secure at least two, if not three, more wins to secure a spot in the top eight and make a push for the finals.

Without their star halfback, it seemed like a tough ask for the Sharks to make it to the finals.

Hynes had already missed some games earlier in the season due to injury, highlighting the team's reliance on him.

They knew they had to dig deep and show a winning attitude in the final weeks of the season while waiting for Hynes to make a comeback from the sidelines.

Although Hynes' form had dipped after a challenging State of Origin appearance earlier in the year, where he endured a tough game against the Queensland Maroons in Sydney with 12 men on the field.

It was just another chapter in what had been a troubled Origin career for Hynes, with a fair share of bad luck playing a part.

In true sporting fashion, the Sharks knew they had to rally together, show resilience, and play with all their heart to make up for Hynes' absence and keep their finals dreams alive.

With the finals in sight, they were determined to prove that they were built different and capable of overcoming adversity on their path to success.
