Cronulla has demonstrated their resilience by defeating the Sydney Roosters 20-10 in a decisive match at Shark Park, ending the Roosters' season and confirming that they are not to be underestimated in the finals.

This victory halted a strong Roosters side that entered the playoffs with momentum, considered one of the competition's top contenders.

Following this win, Cronulla is set to take on the loser of the Canberra versus Brisbane match in a critical semi-final next weekend.

The win marked only Cronulla's second in their last ten finals games, a streak that goes back to 2018.

Despite finishing the season in fifth place, there were few indicators of nervousness during the high-stakes match that met expectations.

Ronaldo Mulitalo shone brightly, scoring twice and coming out on top in his much-anticipated duel with Mark Nawaqanitawase, who managed to score once early in the game.

Braydon Trindall played a pivotal role for the Sharks, assisting both of Mulitalo's tries, while Sam Walker contributed well for the Roosters with multiple impressive plays.
