The Cronulla Sharks have pulled off a sensational victory against the South Sydney Rabbitohs, but unfortunately their triumph has been marred by a hamstring injury to their key playmaker, Braydon Trindall.
Trindall was forced to leave the game with 11 minutes left on the clock, dealing a blow to a Sharks team that was already missing their first choice halfback, Nicho Hynes.
The extent of Trindall's injury is still unknown, but the Sharks' medical staff are staying optimistic that it's not too serious.
If Trindall is sidelined for a bit, potential replacements Mawene Hiroti and Niwhai Puru could get a shot at the starting lineup in next week's showdown with the Titans.
The injury occurred towards the end of a hard-fought 20-6 win over the Rabbitohs.
It was a crucial victory for Cronulla, who had only managed to win two out of their last eight games leading up to this clash.
While they weren't flawless in their performance, the two points earned ensured that the Sharks are still holding onto a top four spot, staying ahead of the competition nipping at their heels.
