NRL Snakes and Ladders: Sharks and Warriors take big slides

The 2025 NRL season introduces a new "Snakes and Ladders" format, where team rankings will adjust weekly based on their performances.

This approach offers an alternative view of team standings contrary to the official competition ladder.

Last season's final standings serve as the base, with the top teams being: 1.

Storm, 2.

Panthers, 3.

Roosters, 4.

Sharks, 5.

Cowboys, 6.

Bulldogs, 7.

Sea Eagles, 8.

Knights, 9.

Raiders, 10.

Dolphins, 11.

Dragons, 12.

Broncos, 13.

Warriors, 14.

Titans, 15.

Eels, 16.

Rabbitohs, 17.

Tigers.

In recent matches, the Canberra Raiders faced the Newcastle Knights and won 22-18.

The Raiders aimed for the top spot, opening with a strong lead, scoring three tries to lead 16-0 by halftime.

Despite a lapse in the second half that allowed the Knights to score twice, a try from Jed Stuart secured the Raiders' win, though they had to fend off a late-game comeback attempt from Newcastle.

Meanwhile, the Melbourne Storm faced the Sharks and achieved a decisive 30-6 victory.

The Storm, eager to reverse their recent losses against the Sharks, started strong with Eliesa Katoa scoring in the fifth minute.

After enduring a tough defensive period, the Sharks briefly surprised the Storm with a 90-meter intercept try from Sualauvi Faalogo, but Brayden Trindall's attempt just before halftime marked the Sharks' only score.

The Storm regained control in the second half, adding three late tries to secure their win, buoyed by Jahrome Hughes's impressive performance.
