Despite a promising regular season, the Sharks couldn't overcome the fifth-placed Eels in their elimination final.
Mona Taleo and Kirrawahn Duckett scored tries for the Sharks, but the Eels took control with two converted tries before halftime.
Felila Fakalelu's try gave the Sharks hope, but the Eels pulled away with three more tries to secure the win.
The Eels will now face the Panthers in week two of the Finals.
The Sharks had previously defeated the Eels earlier in the season, but couldn't replicate their success in the knockout final.
