Shane Flanagan Eyes Return as Analyst

Shane Flanagan Set to Land New Job

Shane Flanagan may be on the verge of a notable comeback, though this time it won't be from the coaching sidelines.

Although an official announcement has yet to be made, reports suggest that Flanagan is in consideration to return to the network as a commentary analyst-a position he filled from May 2021 until the close of 2023.

If he secures this role, he will join a prominent lineup of rugby league commentators that features former Broncos coach Kevin Walters, along with seasoned players like Cooper Cronk, Braith Anasta, and Michael Ennis.

Flanagan and Ennis share a significant connection, as Ennis worked as an assistant coach under Flanagan before he was let go during a coaching shakeup at the Dragons, which saw Dean Young take over as interim head coach.

Flanagan's exit from coaching came after a disappointing period leading the Dragons, marking the end of a two-year stint that never truly hit its stride.
