Sea Eagles Seek Redemption Against Roosters

Match Preview: NSW Cup Round 4 vs Roosters

The Manly Warringah Sea Eagles aim to bounce back in round four of the NSW Cup against the Sydney Roosters this Saturday.

After an exciting win over Canberra in their opener, the Sea Eagles held an 18-12 lead at halftime against the Knights, thanks to strong plays from Zach Dockar-Clay and Joey Walsh.

Manly extended their lead to 24-16 early in the second half, but poor errors allowed the Knights to score five tries in 22 minutes, concluding with a 46-24 defeat for the Sea Eagles.

Dockar-Clay was impressive, leading the tackle count with 30, while young prop Simione Laiafi made significant contributions with 137 run metres.

Coach Brett Kimmorley is focused on improving defensive strategies against a Roosters team that has secured two wins from three matches.

The Roosters kicked off their season with a commanding 48-14 victory over the Warriors and beat South Sydney 30-18, but faced a setback with a 38-12 loss to Penrith last Sunday.

This match takes place at the Roosters' home ground, shifting from the originally scheduled venue at 4 Pines Park.

Currently, Manly is positioned ninth on the ladder while the Roosters sit in third place.
